"B" Live Room & Lounge

  • A multi-purpose room designed to give you a wonderfully bright, tight sound.
  • Tie lines to Control Room "A" allow access to the Big Room and the SSL.
  • An ideal spot for recording a smaller, drier, yet very detailed drum sound.
  • Excellent for overdubbing percussion, guitar, strings, woodwinds, brass, etc.
  • When not in use as an overdub area, this room also provides a full kitchen.

"I knew this room would sound good, and man did it ever. I love recording drums in smaller rooms and this room gave me everything I was looking for. My drums sounded tight, punchy and fat! With those tie lines to the SSL, you really can't ask for a better small room to record drums. Boom!"
Adam Berkowitz ~ Producer, Engineer, Drummer

As a live room, this area is designed to give you a wonderfully bright, tight sound that is distinguishable from, yet complimentary to the Big Room, the Ambient Iso, and the Dry Iso in studio "A". There are tie lines from this room to the "A" Control Room which allow either studio to acces the other studio's recording rooms.

For instance, you can record drums in this room while using the SSL mic. pre's in Control Room "A", or conversely, record the Grand Piano and B3 in the downstairs Big Room from the upstairs Control Room while someone is mixing downstairs.

The unique acoustic properties of this room make it an ideal spot for overdubbing percussion, electric and acoustic guitars, strings, woodwinds, brass and more. This room is the ideal place for capturing a smaller, drier drum sound similar to the drum tracks heard on recordings by Jack Johnson. The early reflections found here stop short of the dense ambient field found in the downstairs Ambient Iso. This feature lends us yet another unique room sound to use in your recordings.

As you can see in the pictures, this room serves as both a Live Room with its own unique acoustics and also as a fully functioning lounge area with a full kitchen. There is also a shower in the next room if you really work up a sweat performing.

You can overdub most anything in the "B" Live Room with great results or whip up a hardy snack to keep your energy flowing during your recording session.

Either way, this combination Live Room and Lounge will provide what you need!

The versatility of our rooms is only just a part of what makes Laughing Tiger Music Production Studios stand out as one of the premier recording studios in Northern California's San Francisco Bay Area. Come and check it out for yourself.
